I got it thanks Phil!! Only problem is no matter what I do it renders out of focus??? I've tried 4 different renders and they are all out of focus and I've checked and double checked the focul length, fstop etc??

On another note is there an advantage to having your scene and set up so tiny? If I was to import a ring it's HUGE and I'd have to shrink it down to .001 just to sit in your scene. Do you purposely make them this small??

Thanks again,
Jay

You have to model in scale. Basic units in Studio are meters.

If your model is too big then the depth of field for the camera will not be large enough to show anything without going "out of focus" -- just one of the many reasons for modeling at actual size.

Best,
Jason.

ok, no problem, this is how I started with maxwell
I work in milimeter scale in rhino & export through maxwell plugin, I get In maxwell studio as mm scale with a camera set up. I keep the scale. as you see in the posted image a simple setup works fine. I am not familiar with your 3d, but jewel set up shoul be im mm scale in
your 3d software. if you are using maxwell plugin in your 3d will be easy exporting to maxwell
studio where you can make changes you need. I had this problem of scale when I started, so
I always keep in mm scale, rhino & maxwell. You can make a new camera in studio should be in focus with autofocus command. Hope this helps, If you need further help, may be you can
pm me your file exported to maxwell. I will look it up to give you a start.
