Are the Maxwell materials on the NL library going to be compatible with v1.7?

You mean the ones that came with the V2 install?

No. They were created with the V2 layering system which will not work with 1.7.

I'm gonna borrow your thread wagurto, i hope you won't mind..

Now i'm testing some of my old mxm's to see how well they work with 2.0 and some work fine but there are exceptions. Exceptions are where the total sum of all layers in a material exceeds 100%, that introduces a massive amount of noise in the material and in the scene. Attempting to reduce the total sum of all layers to 100% makes the materials look more transparent. The noise never really goes away when rendering, this is what it can look like..
