Just downloaded cinemaxwell_1.6f4...

is there a list of bug fixes improvements anywhere?

all I can see is in a Cinemaxwell_1.6.txt file..

Yes, this was an update to fix the animation bug. If you mean improved instance support, don't expect a quick 'fix' for it. Some platforms make a lot of sense as to what data they provide to a plugin, unfortunately C4D is not one of them.
