After installing maxwellrender 1.5 on my macbook Pro, I can't render SV nor AV. Only thing I can do within C4D is write an MXS-file.

I deinstalled the whole thing and reinstalled the updated version from today, but the problem is still the same:

Is there anybody out there to tell me what I can do?

I would be very pleased if someone could help me out of this problem.

Only Maxwell 1.5 core for OSX got updated - I think maybe you have to wait for the current faulty Cinema plugin be updated, which all being well will not be too long.

Can you start a render direct from Maxwell Studio - that will be a good sign as to whether you have more problems than just the known faulty plugin?

I think I've got the whole thing:

A new MacbookPro and the newest releases of the software of C4D and Maxwell.
It is only possible to render within Maxwellstudio after having written a mxs-file.
Just right now I had a crash in mwstudio, when I tried to turn of the viewport.

within C4D it is not possible to render with SV or anything else.

Settings for the sky and sun can't be selected in order to name of cities.

I spent more than two days to find out what is wrong within maxwellrender 1.5.

Summary:
Can't start a render-process within C4D. The window which allows you to watch and controll the render-process does not show up at all. Also the button which allows you to select the cities in the skyoptions does not work.
It shows only "custom" and can't be selected.

I tried to render an mxs file within maxwellstuio. This works properly but I always got squares as a picture.
(By the way: I don't know how to publish pictures within this forum. Would anybody please tell me how to do? -Maybe I'm getting to old for this job:-).
And even here I can't watch or influence the process itself, because the controlwindow does not show up.

There is a tutorial at the maxwell-site: http://www2.nextlimit.com/maxwellrender ... ell01.html
I checked this and it looks great. It would be really great if things would behave like they are shown in this video.

I think I spent enough time to solve problems which I'm not responsible for.
If somebody has got answers please let me know.

oannes: You can never be too old for 3D. I started back in the 80's and find it just as enjoyable now.

Back to your problem - The present C4D plugin is know to have some bad faults but it should still start Maxwell up with Cinema scenes not using newly created mxm's. Can you start Maxwell up with a very simple scene ie: just a sphere?

You have managed to get a render started that doesn't look correct in the Maxwell render window? Open that render in your paint software - does it look correct?

Any display problems with other software? If not I would personally correctly uninstall Maxwell and remove the Maxwell plugin from the Cinema plugin folder. Also rename or completly delete (copy anything you wish to keep out of it first!) the remaining main Maxwell folder.

Download Maxwell 1.5.* and the Cinema plugin from the download site again and install those.

Any better?

It's worth persevering because Maxwell 1.5 is much better than 1.1 (in my opinion). Shame the current Cinema plugin did not get so much care, attention and testing!

Thank you for your answer!

This is what I did:
I deleted everything, downloaded it again and reinstalled it.

I built a simple scene, as you told, with a sphere, an mxm-texture and a camera with a maxwell-camera-tag.

But the result was as described further up.
The render-process started somehow, but I can't watch it, because the window does not show up. There was a small picture, very quick, in my selected folder. It was not the format which I selected. This picture shows the scene as it should be - in a very low resolution.

No display problems with other software. Everything is running fine.

As I said: Rendering the scene in maxwellstudio shows a picture almost 16:9 format with a square in the middle with the scene. The rest is black.
Could not fix this.

Forgot that:

I also tried to render an older scene, made with mwrender 1.1

Same problem!

In mw-studio the whole textures did not show up.

Imagine BMW offers a brandnew car and it would not run at all.

Don't want to waste my time.
Nextlimit has still to do more work on this.

Please post your scene, so I may test. I do not get this error with my test.

Keep it as simple as you can, I will check it and return it back to you.
