Does anyone here have these issues as well?

Whenever i try using an MXM, home made or downloaded, i eventually get errors when Maxwell can´t locate a texture belonging to the MXM.
As it is now, i have to have two setups of every single MXM used, one in the Maxwell folder, and one in the main scene folder, and i still get these error messages eventually.
The texture is there in both folders, but i´m forced to delete and replace them with an identical image, and than it works fine for a while, until i get the same error for the same texture.

What´s going on here?

Hi Rochr.

I've got the same issues here... sometimes.
The truth is, I can't say that this happens regularly nor can I say why. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Without any system or structure at least I can recognize. Sometimes it just won't find the jpg.

What I do is: I open the mxm-file in mxm-editor, check if the jpg is really missing - which is NOT the case.
Then I click on export and overwrite the mxm with the same filename, without having changed anything.

After having done that, it works.
Btw: I don't use Studio.

Greetings.

Thanks Mashium.

Well, i eventually get this error everytime i use an MXM material, and it´s kinda tiresome having to replace an already existing image over and over again. Don´t know if it´s a plugin issue or if its something with the core, but it definitely wouldn´t hurt with a bugfix.

I´ll try your tip and see if it stays solid.

Hi this is a very simple thing to fix.

Download your material.
Unpack it to any folder of your choice.
Load the material using MXED.
Locate the texture folder when asked.
Now export the material from the file menu.
Save over the downloaded version of the mxm.
Next time you open the mxm, the textures will load.

I run into this problem and it can be very frustrating on larger projects. It's not just about fixing the material paths.

In addition to what was mentioned, sometimes when I add a new Custom MXM, the textures on the previous one (which was working) will go missing. This will even remain when the file is closed/opened. I haven't really found a set pattern, on some files it does it everytime, some not at all.

Yep, it sounds all to familiar. Happened to me as well during my latest scene "The Village". Some of the texture images had to be replaced about 30-40 times. Frustrating doesn´t really cover it. :)

Thanks for the tips though everyone. I´ll try them all and see if they might help.
