Hi.

First of all, thanks for the Nov. newsletter.

It sais:
"We are working hard on the plug-ins for Maya 8, 3dsMax 9 and Cinema4D 10 which when released will all see huge improvements. We target to release updates for all the plug-ins before the end of the year."

Now, will the new plug we're awaiting work with versions prior to R10? (like the actual one does... I believe, now it's: R8.5 and above...) or will this be an exlusive R10 plug?

Me, I have not upgraded my c4d package, because the actual Maxwell Plug doesn't work proparly under R10 Demo (see other threads for details).
So, if the new plug would work only under R10, I would have to upgrade to join a hopefully great and fully working maxwell-plug...

An answer would help me planning financial issues regarding this upgrade-topic...

Thx and greetings.
Mesut.

Next Limit is aware of camera issue.

As far as release 8.5, you really should upgrade to R10, you get BP3 included free with the upgrade, and there really is no reason to wait on R10.

Hi Tyron,

is there any possibility for a workaround?,
i have to render a project with exactly the camera views from within cinema.
sadly i was so stupid not to test the plugin fully. and i cant go back to 9.5.

now i have a severe problem, the client wants maxwell images, in exact the view pixelsimilar to c4d. can i somehow transport the project into studio and rectreate the same camerasetting?

i am quite in hurry.

thanks for help.

Hello Tyrone,

can you or NL please give a clear answer, if the new plugin will work with R9.1?

I am disappointed that the newsletter is so unclear.

Thank you.

hmm, well the 9.5+ sdk is much more stable and has more functions for external renderengines. it would be nice to be as backwards compatible but also 9.1 is very old now i think. hope we do not loose functions through supporting old versions...

This to me is yet another dissapointment since i don´t have any plans on upgrading, nor do i have extra money to spare on software for a very long time ahead, even if i wanted to.
Guess i´ll end up not beeing able to use Maxwell after all. So much for that "investment".

For those of you lucky enough to have R10, i wish you good luck and hope you´ll get a solid release this time.

Adios

Hmm... obviously I was not able to ask my question in an understandable manner.. so I may try again.

1. Will the plug in announced in the Nov. Newsletter only work with R10? Or will it work with 9.6, 9.1, 8.5 too?

Thx for a clear answer.

Hy Stefan,

are you a beta tester of the new plugin?

I am a little confused where you get your information of the new plugin from?

I would venture to assume the plug-in will work under r9.6 and r9.5. I cannot say for sure about R9.1. I would guess it would work for the most part. I only have R9.6 and hopefully soon R10.

When the plug-in is released, I will start a thread for tests to be placed for people wanting to post confirmations in versions earlier than R10.

Until then, let's allow development to continue as you all know, a lot of hard work is going in to make the experience of the plug-in better and better!

Stefan, the only workaround for the moment is to have open the mxs file in studio and manually transfer your C4D maxwell camera tag settings into this mxs file.
