Hi girls and boys,

Hope you have as much fun I do with the new release but:

1. Can anyone tell me why the plugin is still called 0.7b? That's definitely something I don't want to see in a final version!

2. Anyone tried to save the cinemalayout with maxwell and if it works to open with cinema?

3. Where is a manual for the PlugIn? I'd like to know what the new skymap is for and what all the options are for and especially to what kind of object I should assign it.

4. Maxwell is NOT distributing the display/render options to children. I still have to select all the children and disable their render ability. (Cinema9.101)

If anyone has some answers it would be fine. (As well as the forum being more stable.)

Well, the current plugin is a beta for shure, it has the same major bugs and
even crash bugs (like M~R window open in layout) for over a year now.

When I read that the Mac version showed last minute show stoppers, then
the whole app is more like an beta anyway.

Documentation? What the heck is that? Even an option like Multilights is only
implemented halfways...

The plugin is actually 0.7c see ref: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=11075

Are you on Mac or PC? As far as saving the layout in Cinema 4D with Maxwell plugin activated.

The manual is the readme.txt file included with the plugin. There are lots of resources here in the forum.

Render propagation and dots has been documented in the current bug tracker.

There are two new tags:

Hide to camera - for hiding objects, suggest you use them in lieu of the render dots.

and Maxwell Skymap for HDRI, etc.

Actually the plugin is pretty good, there are some bugs, and the workflow is different but it is not something to prevent you making art.

I don't think this is a substitute for a manual.
There is over a year of information of working with this plugin on this forum, there is lots of shared knowledge to glean. You can always ask questions, and I am sure there will be someone to find an answer or point you in the right direction. I'll do my best to get you up to speed! :D

Tyrone, can you imagine that not everyone has access to this forum or bought the software just a few days ago?

Then there is a HUGE need for a manual as you certainly wouldn't spend half a year reading the forum to be able to use the plugin. And for me this is a must to be able to understand the new features like skymap. It is nice to have the forum but there is a need for it.

And my Plugin still says "Maxwell Render for Cinema4D 0.7b" no matter what you tell me and what I know it should represent. I find it with this name in the Plugin drop-down menu and the window is named the same.

And I can still read in the Readme.txt that the propagation to children should work, which it abviously doesn't!

Apart from the inability to render out anything in highres. ;)

While we´re at it, can you tell us something about the HD-option and when it might be available? I know it´s a 1.x release, but a time estimation could be helpful. The sizes Maxwell can render out right now is simply insufficient.
A month, a year, 2008...?
