Whenever I want to import a architectural scene in Studio it's soooo slow that it is no use to work with.

I have a building consisting of 4900 and a few objects. When I write a mxs it is 49mb big and takes 8-14 minutes to write.

Then I import it in Studio - and wait for another 2 minutes to read the file in. And then everything is possible except selecting an object - if I do that then studio tries to refresh and gets stuck. I hate it. And to do it via Cinema is not possible due to the sluggish reaction of maxwell. I wanted to apply materials in studio, but now it's no use.

to use it I have to switch a lot of things off, but the distribution to children objects of the switch on/off is not working, so this means more work again. This is something that was working in the Beta. The same with my textures. I have to do them again and place projectors in studio - that was not necessary in beta-version. Why is is now? I'd prefer to set it up and use it from cinema with the plugin, with out ever need to start studio. not even for the mateditor. That's another thing i'd like to be able to use it from cinema.

I completly agree with you. I`m staing as far as i can from maxwell studio. I only use it to make and export the material to mxm. There is now way i can work with those thousand of ungrouped objects in studio, and is crazy slow.., and no UNDO.. :cry:

Well, I have a model with 1600+ objects that creates an mxs of 550+ MB
within ~3 Minutes.

It becomes unworkable in Studio obviously...

Same experiences here with speed. But plugin is quite useable for me. You can use except plastic all tags as before in the same way. Only plastic one you have to replace with custom mxm. Tag do not propagate. It is true. But you can group all objects, you want to hide, under one parent and then use select children and change render to all together. It is not great, but not pain...

Why spekoun... i keep using the plastic tag like beta version?





and i can´t use mxm at the moment

NL updated the mac and win version to have mxm tag working - BUT THEY DIDN´T TRY ON THEIR MACS TO SEE IF WORKS

And sorry for this but we get crazy with NL... they put in announcements the mac version was updated with mxm tag - DON´T WORK - WHY WE DIDN`T HAVE ANY WORD FROM NL ABOUT THIS ???

I also don't understand why we shouldn't use plastics, spekoun. See the material test I did - they work.

Plastic is translated into two layers. It is correct, but both layers have weight of 100. And that did big problems to my render. At least is seemed to be my problem, because when i replaced all plastic with custom mxm, render was much better.

And take care of bump. Is translated 10 times greater. So if you vant bump value 5, in cinema set 0.5
