OK, so we have been waiting for so long to get anythign that we seem to have lost sight of what matters.

RC5 comes out claiming to be as good as the beta but with SSS disabled, well, I call that a step back.

I agree that there are many improvements to the material system, but so what?! We have to be in the Studio to take advantage of it, and let me say one more time: I do not need another 3D app in my workflow. Did I not read almost all of you at one point crying out about that???

The original plug-in for C4D setup was not that bad. Sure, it would be great to integrate better with C4D materials, but at this point I am quite happy to settle for the tags, just build more material support into them.

Two of the most important problems with the plug-in from the get go are still not resolved: 1- Why does the plug-in window not save the settings with the C4D file (sun settings, etc.) 2- The bloody film offset still does not work. Is Architectural rendering not a major market for M~R? The single most useful feature in C4D for image composition is the film offset. Ask any Architectural Photographer if they want to live without it.

Lastly, is it just me or did the north orientation rotate couter clockwise 90 degrees when using the physical sky?

SSS was not fully operational via the Cinema 4D plugin in the beta, so I know that when it is enabled for the RC it will be something to play with again.

The maxwell sun was always 90 degrees offset from the cinema sun. Has it changed again?

(I normally put the sun in a Null-Objekt and turn it accordingly, so I'll see in Cinema what I'll get when I fire up maxwell.)
