This is definitely Windows related. Check your environment variables from the control panel and system for the following:

Check your environment varibles for:

MAXWELL_ROOT
C:\Program Files\Next Limit\Maxwell\

Path
C:\Program Files\Next Limit\Maxwell\

Make sure the actual "C:\" paths to your actual install location for Maxwell Render.

Comments about testing are relevant. Time and time again with the Cinema plugin each updated version has big flaws when first released. I look forward to downloading the fixed version.

I agree.
If testing procedures seem to be failing over and over again, we as customers have all the rights to voice our concerns.
After all, we did pay for a working software.

On any serious forum, this wouldn´t be a problem.
Unless you´re planning to re-introduce the nazi-moderation this entire forum suffered from a year ago? You know, at the time NL lost about half of their customer base.

This time, it wasn´t so bad, but it was still a bug that should´ve been spotted quickly. Even more so if it´s XP related, considering the majority still uses that OS.

Btw, it works here now as well. Rebooting did the trick. Thanks.

This time it is not a cinema plug-in bug. The problem comes from the windows 64 installer of Maxwell that it is not doing what it should in some systems. Solving the paths in environment variables solves the problem. I am quite sure the new Cinema4D plug-in will please all our Cinema4D users

Tyrone still doesn´t work for me too and you know what is weird, when i go to the Control Panel in Add or Remove Programs i can´t see Maxwell render program, in previous version even the 1.5 i can see the program on that list.
Maybe there is a problem in the Maxwell Render installation where windows doesn´t recognizes the program.
WinXP Pro 32, C4D 9.6

Cheers

JC,

If you haven´t tried yet, leave out the "mxcl"-part at the end.

Rochr,

You know that I pretty much practice hands off most of the time on the forum. The end of line is here for those that release after release after release have the same comments over and over again. Stated once is fine, we may choose to agree or disagree, most of the time, the smart comments are just left as they are as it does nothing to deter the hard work that has been done. But if every one of your post must restate the same low point over and over again. Then you will be shown the door.

Great to hear that everyone here is now able to use their Maxwell Render again!

Now get to rendering displacement! And for goodness sakes do not forget to try out clip maps using Cinema 4D's alpha channel and the instances! It's great. You can do some great convincing grass with clip maps and instances!

When you get the chance, some good words to the Cinema 4D plug-in developer would be in for good measure.
