May I try to understand clearly...?
nicole wrote:... The release of 1.5 will bring an improved C4D plug-in, completely adapted to the new features like Z-clip and HDR output. The plug-in will also benefit from the core improvements, resulting in better memory handling etc. ...
That means, we are going to receive an updated c4d-plug together with the 1.5?
nicole wrote:... However, we are also running a parallel project on the C4D plug-in, which involves a complete and total revision of the plug-in, and which will incorporate and make available most of your wishes in the wishlist thread. There will be complete material integration for example.
We do understand that the C4D plug-in needs work, and it is first on the list now that we have finished the 1.5 dev. ...
Though there will be an update together with the 1.5, you (the dev) are creating a new c4d plug from scratch?
What is meant by "parallel"? Will you go on developing the two plug ins at the same time?
Are you planning this new plug for a 2.0 release of the core (which we would have to pay again)? Or will this newly designed plug be available for your old valued customers?

Mesut... to clarify things a bit further:

The C4D plug-in will come with some improvements, together with 1.5.

However, the big, kick-ass improvements such as full material integration will come later... NOT with 2.0, but (way) before that. I'm reluctant to give dates, but you won't have to wait very long. And this will be a free plug-in update. So, currently, we are developing the big improvements in a parallel project, to be ready after 1.5. So there are not two plug-ins..there are two development paths: one that has finished and includes some updates to come with 1.5...another one that has just been started and that will bring major improvements for after the 1.5 release.

I hope this helps. Thanks for your great reactions guys.

Cheers,

Nicole

Nicole... thanks a lot for helping me understand. :)
We're not really used to getting detailed information like that ( ) around this corner of the forums.
So I very much appreciate your work.

You brought us very good news. I'm looking forward to seeing how much love cinema4d will be getting.

Yihaaaa... :D

Thanks for the news Nicole. That's what I wanted to hear. It's extremely good to hear good news, ecspecially if a program is crippled (IMHO) so please, please , please continue the good work and keep us informed. That will make me very happy. All I want to hear is acknowledgement of problems and that will be sorted out soon.

So again, thank you Nicole.

Hi,

We will hopefully be able to include a 64 bits version of Cinemaxwell with 1.5... Anyhow, if it doesn't come with the 1.5 release, it will be there a few days after.

Cheers!
