This is great news. Assuming you are a beta tester for the new plugin, what can you tell us that won't violate your NDA. What kind of bug fixes and redesign can we expect. Please Stefan, tell us.

Because I bought my way in here and I am exercising my right to complain about bad services (and to joke about it some times).
When I get my WORKING 100% plugin I will stop complaining.

OTOH NL owes me interest on the initial capital, so I guess I will continue complaining anyway :P .

Anyway, stefan, I hope this time we get a REAL working plugin. The problem is that we have been getting false promises (or half promises) for nearly two years. I am just fed up and angry.

As for the people that can use it, good for them. It doesn't mean that I got what I paid for, that's all.

seco, i am no betatester, i just quoted a message from nicole from NL.
i said i will be happy when i have this new plug...

noseman, the cinemaplugin is by far not perfect, but it is very usable. i just dont like this statements about crap and unusable. that is really not true.

it might be not enough "comfortable" for you or to complicated or whatever reason you dont like it( i know c4d user are spoiled and think each software must be like cinema, sadly few are), but thats a personal view not a fact.

sure maxwell isnt for fast renderings without very fast hardware, but it certainly has its excellent qualities. i just feel bothered by the endless repetation of complaints and party untrue and oversimplified statements in the cinema forum.

the cinema forum here became very senseless because of that, which is a pitty, there could and should be a lot more talk about how to use maxwell best and to help other users. thats what it is made for. i at least know that you and some others are unhappy and are waiting for an update. i feel bothered to read the same statements in almost every post here.

i just had to say that once...
i would hope that there will be a more usefull talk established here in future and transforming in a good resource for cinemaxwell users,

well sorry, but just my opinion...
cheers

First of all, sorry for the thread hijacking

Stefan, you are (in my eyes) a VERY respectable person in the C4D community and your opinions are always welcome to me.

I just want to make my point clear. I have no dispute with you or Tyrone or anybody that likes, enjoys, uses (etc etc) Maxwellrender.

I use for my work more than 20 different SW.
C4D, XSI, Formz, Amapi, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark Xpress, Director, Flash, Golive, boujou, After Effects, FinalCut Studio (Motion, Shake, FCP) etc. etc.

I use these SW packages nearly every day and I have Paid for every one of them and I have problems ONLY with Nextlimit.
I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR WORKAROUNDS, HALF WORKING SW, STUPID AND ARROGANT DEVELOPERS. (sorry for shouting, but I can't stand NL's attitude)

I pay a lot of money for SW in a bloody country that has maore than 65% software piracy. I can have as many serial numbers I want for any sw in the world, and here in Greece NO ONE CAN CATCH ME!

But I preffer to give my HARD EARNED money to developers like Juan, Miguel, Victor etc. WHAT DO I GET BACK??? Half a program and a ton of attitude.

If they don't like me complaining, THEN GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK, or a 100% working M~R.
Simple.
i would hope that there will be a more usefull talk established here in future and transforming in a good resource for cinemaxwell users
I agree with you 100%, and I give my feedback and help when I can. Just search for my old posts and see how I used to contribute to the community. I even nearly started a war on CGSOCIETY with my "camel pack" render (a year ago).
Complaining is another thing and I won't stop as long as I don't get what I paid for.

Noseman, What are you using amapi for?

It is VERY easy to do specific simple modelling tasks, because it has some special line snapping features that help me a lot.

My main app is C4D but some things are simpler to do in other packages.

I started using Amapi, back in the Electric Image days, before they had a modeller. More than 10 years ago!

Wow time flies!

Well I too used amapi along with Form Z back in those EI days... (2.8) i think

Then I switched to C4D, at version 7.3, and I have not regretted it!

The way I see it, (and others I'm sure) if we where not complaining, NL would have NEVER updated the plugin, and we would have been working with studio.

So, it would have been:

Bug fixes? : some
Redesign?: NO
Addressing ALL issues?: use studio

Have in mind that I have never bothered any user personally and my complains are straight forward towards NL.

The day NL says: "OK we messed up BIG time, we are sorry and trying to fix things up", I will STOP complaining. Simple. 8)

Think i´ll have to agree with this one to a certain point.
Take a look back and you´ll notice that just prior to every update of Cinemaxwell, there have been some massive complaining.
Coincidence...?

I also want to add that although i don´t find Maxwell to be useless, it´s usefulness is highly dependent on what type of scenes you´re trying to render, and in what resolution.
If i would want to render out a handful of objects, it´s most likely an ok tool, but for large scenes with a massive amount of objects/polys, it´s a poor one.

In its currents shape.
