what's a pain? Cinema? Maxwell? or the combination of both?

What do you have problems with? What can we help you with?

Texturing? Lighting? modeling things in Cinema?.... Please give us more informations, what you really need. That you are new to Cinema is nice and we will help a bit but this is not a modelling forum... so if you are german I'd advice c4dboard.com or 3darena.com , otherwise cgtalk might be fine if you have general Cinema4D questions.

If it is about Cinema and Maxwell - please specify your questions and I'm sure we'll help!

Well,

I'm using Maxwell with the Archicad plugin. However, I can see that there may be advantages to using C4D. For example, if there's a smooth transition from Archicad to C4D in terms of geometry, which with the correct plugins I think there is, then you could use Archicad for the basic modelling of walls etc and then move to C4D to add details to the model. Once that's done then you need a decent rendering engine. But that's where I have problems. I don't know C4D. If there was a basic tutorial about how to use Maxwell with C4D then the only bit missing would be to get up to speed on the modelling aspect.

Maxwell is great straight from Archicad. But it'd be nice to be able to use the middleware of C4D to add the extra details to the model.

So, my requirement is how to use Maxwell with C4D.

I'll get there in the end but it'd be nice to have a tutorial on the Maxwell for C4D plugin. Better if NL produced some sort of short guide as to how to use the plugins.

TIA

dont know about the new version but what i tend to do is map it using a c4d material and then once its mapped cause you can see the mat in the viewport change to a maxwell tag, you can even let the maxwell tag steal the c4d colour channel too. i shall look into it more, (unless someone knows about the new version or not before i reply again )
