I will setup two new render nodes . My main machine is a MacPro 2010.

Short question ... Should i install Windows 8 on the nodes or better Windows 7 ?

Do you already own Win 7, 8, both, or neither? I'd say just do whatever's convenient. If you are purchasing a new OS, might as well go with Win8, as it benchmarks about the same as or better than Win7. Drivers will continue to be optimized which will probably result in further Win8 advantages.

I can't see a compelling reason to specifically aim for Win7 if you don't already have it.

Thanks hats. I own Win7 and was thinking to upgrade to Win 8. ( to be on the actual side). But with your information i will save that budget and will stay on Win7.
