Hi all!

I've got a renderfarm with 15 servers set up.
One of the servers are also acting as a database for my Maxwell materials, MXS files, HDR files ect.

To be able to reach all that data I need to network map that folder on all the servers. Since win XP has a limitation when it comes to number of connected computers we have a problem

What would you recommend?
Install Windows Server 2003? Is that one in 64 bit mode?
Any other idea?

Hi PAtrick,

Perhaps share the materials on a linux machine running Samba or an Apple OS X machine with windows sharing enabled?

I'm no pro so I don't know whether either of these implementations have a limit on the number of connections, but I'm sure one can find that out pretty quickly.

Yeah I could do that, I was running linux on all my renderslaves before.
I think that I will stick to one OS in my renderfarm. So I guess a win-server OS is the way to go, but I would like to have this verified, that it works like it should.
