Just had a little test of network rendering, without much success.
My main machine with Server and Manager running seemed to be doing something the other server said render failed (something to do with not being able to find a bitmap).
Basically I don't know what I'm doing and the manual is not particularly helpful, I need a step by step instruction guide. I haven't asked before, as every one seemed to be having problems with V1.0. Now it's fixed in V1.1, it would be nice to be able to use it.
A few dumb questions.
Can network rendering be started by clicking the render button in studio, if so what buttons do I push and or what command line options do I need to add in from within studio (The command line thingy seems unnecessarily complicated to me).
If I can’t start network rendering from within studio which switches do I have to start mxcl with? I wish this thing had GUI.
Is it possible to view the network render as it’s rendering with the –d switch?
How do I let it know where the textures and bump maps are (as it doesn’t seem bright enough to figure this out for itself even though it knows the IP addresses of the servers)?
