Hi,

Today I tried to render with 2 computers on 1 picture. I start rendering on 1 computer, then stopped it. I saved the mxi placed this one on the other computer and start render it on both computers. I let the pictures bake for 2 hours and then tried to merge them.

Now I get the message: cannot merge because both mxi files have the same id.

Wat was wrong on this method and is there a way to change the id of the other mxi file?

In the future, you should start your renders from the MXS file, as it will automatically assign different idcpu numbers.

i get the same problem but with different method
i am using 3 machines and the merged mxi says all of the mxi file have the same ID as the main .mxi file computed by my comp?

how can i verify each machine's ID so to make sure they work on different seeds and output different mxi's? Where can it be set automatically so that the manager distributes the seeds ?

partly solved>

idea is to specify the output of the mxi on the network drive ( v 1.7.1) then the auto merge works...

Howerer, the multilight does not resist the system.... its checked when i output the mxs, then when opening the network calcultated mxi the multilight is not available.... any hint??
