Everything related to Maxwell network rendering systems.

Hi!

My 15 nodes are up and running with win64 and version 1.7.
I've done some tests now, with all nodes in a Co-Op rendering... about 50% of the nodes fails. The message in Maxwell Server is that a texture cant be found, its there though, so there must be something else.

If I start a non co op rendering with the first node, then number 2, number 3, number 4 ect, I can start renders sucessfully until node number 7-8, after that one it starts to fail.

Its not the same nodes that are failing all the time, its totally random.
My server that holds all the textures and MXS files are running win32, and I've installed the patch that pushes up the max numbers of connections.

Are there any timeout setting that can be set in maxwell render?
It feels like server dosnt get an answer from the server with the textures, and directly fails.

Any Ideas?

All the nodes are connected to the same Gbit switch

I think the problem can be in the machine that holds all the textures and MXS files, that it cannot handle so many simultaneous connections to a shared resource, I think you need a "server" version of Microsoft Windows for that.
and I've installed the patch that pushes up the max numbers of connections.
Which patch is it?, and are you sure you are not reaching the limits even with it? It's not abou the numbers of connections only, it's also about the number of simultaneous connections to a single shared file.

You can also try to run a cooperative with all machines availables and turn the servers on in groups of five while they start rendering and won't read the textures anymore. If that works, your problem is in the machine sharing the files.

I've set the limit to 10 000, so it should work fine..
Ill do some more tests!

Done some more testing..
I've started the same Co-Op render 3 times with 4 different nodes.
Each time two of the nodes fails, saying that its missing an IOR file.

Though the Ior file is very much there..

Ideas?
Co-Op dosnt work for me at all atm :/

Naah sorry, but I think that I've found the problem... Ill be back! :D

It seems like if my UNC paths have caused the problem, maby...
And 15 nodes accessing one machine (not server-os)
