there's still the myth about how images of a certain SL (with different seed index) define the SL of the merged image.

can someone of NL give a statement or rule of thumb for that?

* * *

concerning coop-net-rendering
will it be possible to enter a desired Sl for the final merged image, so that each individual computer can render an image with it's individual power. (of course, each server will produce an image with a smaller SL than the desired, merged image...)

* * *

is it possible to develop a network-benchmark that combines the power of all computers and the network into one number ?

thanks for the infos in advance... !

Hi deadalvs,

The network will be vastly improved for the next release, it is one of the areas we are working more (apart from plugins). At now you set a sampling level separately in each machine, we have plans to implement a system to let you set an unique SL for the whole system but actually it was not in the plans for 1.2. However you will be very happy with the new features of the networking system, namely the preview to see the progress of the render.

Kind regards,

Juan

Do you guys plan on incorporating cross platform co-operative rendering support into the next release? That would be pretty nice on my side.

For eg.: If you had 4 identical computers and you calculate a render time using 'maxwell render calculator' (
http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=16183) to reach a certain sl. Divide the total time by 4, then render in coop for that amount of time and you will have reached that sl.

ie. It's all about total processing time input.
