Anyone an idea how to create realistic felt?

I used a fine noise as a displacment in Max. More precisely I used a volume select/ push modifer combo. A darker green specular color is what I should change next but I'm doing other stuff right now

Nice balls.. but you should set them so they're not all rotated pointing in the same direction, make them all a bit off and perhaps with scratches on the surfaces of them and ..fingerprints too then you got yourself a real set of balls, billiardballs that is.
