Update 29/11/11: Just a little animation of my favourite car:

Update 16/11/11
I've been wanting to update this for a while, here's some recent work. Some aren't particularly Maxwell-y, but I always use my favourite render engine.
Escher inspired:

Some George Hart inspired work:

Some Pythagoras trees:

Hilbert cube! (One of my favourite fractals):

Some jewellery I did over the summer (for practise):

Koch snowflake:

Koch Icosa:

Inverse menger sponge:

And finally some interlocking tetrahedra:

Hi everyone, I decided to finally show off some work that I've done that's not university based, all the images here were created purely for fun/experience. These have all been created since October 2010 using Maxwell.
--- G E O M E T R I C ---
I lot of my work recently has been inspired by the legendary geometric work of Torolf / Jotero. Some of these models were made with Cinema 4D, some with Paracloud GEM.
This image features a flower profile swept around a fourier knot, to show the thin sections I used the blue rubber SSS preset. With thanks to 3D-meier for the formula.

This image was an adaptation of the cornell box (that ceiling made it take quite a while to render). Maybe someone could answer why the area behind the glass sphere looks so dark. The glass was as clear as I could make it and the scale is correct (for a cornell box). Is the glass just refracting the available light away?

This image was just experimenting with the cornell box and complex geometry face orientation (knot).

The same model as above with a glass knot.

A simple subdivided cube with some deformation and an atom array.

This was a test of dispersion. I realised after I made this I could have used PhotoShop to copy the image into the pattern instead of rendering it.

This was a test of modelling and bump mapping. (Can't remember which HDRI I used, sorry).

My first Klein bottle.

The lighting isn't perfect in this one but it's a menger cube with cross bracing in GEM.

This is a variation on a menger cube and uses the wizard gold material.

A menger cube with spheres.

A menger cube deformed to make a torus, with a spherical emitter in the middle for good measure.

This image was created using a menger cube of bevelled cubes. I used the low quality glass wizard material but the green transmittance colour didn't look that good, so I changed the hue in PhotoShop.

This is one the physics fans like me might like, a test of dispersion in a triangular prism. I used the 'narrow slit light box far away' method. This is SL25 and I don't know what would have to be done to make it clear up any better, if it ever could.

This was a test of modelling. The pattern is a sine-sine wave. This image involved some post work in Alien Skin Exposure.

This was a test of modelling inside GEM.

This is a mobius loop modelled in Cinema then GEM was used to add the detail.

The next 3 images were inspired by Structure Synth but made using mograph.

These were modelled in TopMod as dispersion examples.

This is the same model as above but with smoothing.

This was a fingerstar modelled in TopMod, given a glass material with a low Nd value and then an emitter was placed above it to make the pattern on the floor.

This was a quick modelling test.

--- C H E M I C A L ---
This image was a test of using near perfect mirrors to create the illusion of infinity. The molecule is adrenalin. This was rendered using the Ranch when they had they're special 5 minute offer and reached SL19 in that time.

This was a test of bokeh as well as a cool background. The model is vitamin B12 and is from 3D Printables

--- P R O D U C T ---
This was a test for using Maxwell to render lighting products. A large spherical emitter is inside a rounded cube which has the tracing paper thinSSS preset applied.

The same model as above with the lights off.

--- A U T O M O T I V E ---
To practise my automotive rendering I used a model from Xtrm3D. This was my favourite out of the several that I did. Some post work using Alien Skin Exposure.

This was another automotive rendering test. Model courtesy of http://xiiid.deviantart.com/

This is my latest and most complete car to date. I let this reach SL20. Some post work in Photoshop & Exposure.

--- O T H E R ---
This was a test of which sampling level images would need to be rendered to when I printed them at home. The image was rendered at A6 resolution in sampling level steps of 2, as annotated. When combined and printed, there was no visible difference between SL12 and SL14, demonstrating that when destined for print on my home printer anything above SL12 was overkill. The model was created in Cinema 4D using a mograph cloner with the Stanford Bunny and a sphere. The HDRI used was custom.

These images were made when I first started experimenting in-depth with stereoscopy and SSS. Model courtesy of http://www.cs.caltech.edu/~njlitke/mesh ... ns/hhoppe/

Edited 13th July with some new work. Next I'll add some animations! Thanks for viewing and I welcome all constructive criticism and feedback!
