Hi guys, I'm finally had some time to start learning Maxwell. Huge thanks to Jason for his excellent tutorials. I made it through most of the free ones and am going to purchase the rest (I've made a number of tutorials for modo and know how tedious it can be - Jason's are really good.. http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... 97&t=35476 and got me up and running).
This is the ubiquitous Stanford Dragon, always a good test subject. I was aiming for a sort of glazed copper material. It's just one BSDF layer with force fresnel and a coating with some textures for bump and roughness. I need to learn more about mapping in Maxwell and how materials blend together (not completely intuitive).. but I'm pretty happy with the results. It's just an HDR probe for lighting.
The CS4 box image was a model created in modo.. the lighting is a combination of a studio HDR and some light cards (emitters). Again, a good learning experience in Maxwell. modo is nice setup engine for Maxwell and I commend the effort put into the plug in since modo doesn't offer much to latch onto. 501 will be better in this area - hopefully we can get better integration with Maxwell. I think there's some better ways (more accurate ways) to do the material conversion from modo->Maxwell as well.

Looking forward to the interactive preview and becoming more adept with this great renderer.
