Ooo all very nice! I know it's probably just a time thing but it would be SO cool if the roof tiles were actually modelled tiles. It would really add to it.

I like the v1.1 :D Although I would have used a more omogenious texture for the shingles...

Thanks Jozvex and Leo for the replies,

One of the main problems I have is getting a decent asphalt shingle roof texture to look right. I did think about modeling them before but wasn’t sure if that would be over kill so to speak.... Maybe I’ll try out a few other shingle textures and get your guys input on them. :D

Thanks again,
Mark

Mark, nice work here! I have one suggestion, use the AGS glass on any glass surfaces that are to be viewed from outside the structure. You will get the most wonderful looking architectural glass!

Thanks Sandy

Hi Tyrone,
Thanks for the comments. If I’m not mistaken I thought I used AGS Glass, I set the reflective to 100 and the reflectance to white… so that I could get the blue sky to reflect in the windows… you think that was a no no?

Thanks again,
Mark

One more thing... the landscape

I think your rendering is missing a little more spark in the landscape... it looks like the owner decided to do it himself, instead of hiring an Land.Arch. plus some good labor

BTW grass looks incredible... how did you make it?

Hey Leo,
As you can tell I’m not a landscaper
I really don’t have a big vegetation library yet so I’m still working on it.

The grass is from an old render done in flamingo using a material called heath grass, I like the grass so much that I post process it into my Maxwell renders. For around the sidewalk and such I use the clone stamp with a brush called “Dune Grass” size set to around 10. I think it adds a nice touch

Yes, vegetation is a hard one... Right now, I'm doing some tests on Vegetating my renderings :D

but I have a limited surply of useful vegetation :( So I have to become very creative

Hey guys, updated with the cologne bottle... one thing I wish I would have done a better job on the lighting setup.

The atomiser on the top looks almost like a photo that was added. Probably just the lighting setup. But the bottle itself turned out really really well. Great job!

Edit: After looking at this again, I realize why the atomiser looks "added in." It's because of its outline that make it look like it was pasted into the picture, instead of being a part of it. I don't know where those lines came from (a really odd lighting setup?) but if you remove those somehow, I think it'll make the picture look better. Imho, of course.

Thanks for the comments guys!

CJElven,
Yea I think it’s from my lighting setup, I’m going to try a few different lighting setups on it when I get a change. Thanks for the comment.

Updated with the fan render.

Cheers,
Mark
