MY only question is why you're making dinnerware from asbestos. :)

I'm just waiting for support for procedurals so you don't have to do that using maps. :(

Interesting lighting on the, um...uh...thing. It looks like you've got almost-too-bright lighting, like the picture was taken with a flashbulb at a pretty close range or something. For some reason, that anchors it in reality a lot more than it might otherwise for me. Very cool.

I like the lighting setup on the dinnerware a lot. Very "catalogue" (It so impressed me, I even spelled "catalogue" with the extra "ue" at the end).

Asbestos homeware is mild compared to my usual projects. 'Uh Thing'... why didn't I think of that! And all along i've been calling it 'The Pod'. I shall alter its title in my portfolio now.

Yes, the lighting is pretty strong. I've been struggling to figure out ways of hightlighting areas of mat (non gloss) objects without casting strong shadows. I suppose I wasn't really trying to come up with a realistic image though... just something that looked interesting. I've been creating my own emitters within the standard studio set up and i've been playing with different shaped emitters (from spheres to planes). I used small spheres as emitters here, but I'm not sure if thats the correct way to add lighting.

Thanks for the comments.
