Thanks! :)

Nice water caustics!

I agree. I didn't made the design, just the render, but I guess they would say that a good lawn mower with aspirator would solve the problem.

The water caustics are all kind of tricky; the first pool uses Nuno's method or something similar: two water surfaces; one real water but hidden to camera + one AGS that provides reflections and shows the caustics produced by the real water; it has the problem of showing dimmed unrefracted geometry too.
The second and third are made out of two renders: the main render is made with plain "real water" and the second would be the same but with water hidden to camera (so it shows unrefracted geometry but fast and nice underwater caustics. They are blended in post; the second one is deformed and rippled in post too to match the refracted geometry of the first one.

:D You are right! Good critic! Beer doesn't have that sophisticated touch that wine has, but white would indeed fit better. I would prefer a cold beer too tough.
Or maybe red wine with some Jabugo's ham and good bread would do too... hmmm.

Hi Fernando.. do you have any good tips&tricks to do that kind of images - I mean fitting rendering into photo :?:

Not many; in fact, what I've done in those renderings is fitting photo into rendering instead of rendering into photo. :P

If client cannot provide the pictures or doesn't want, I usually spent a lot of time choosing the right background, anyway if you expect the client to change your image I would suggest to take the alpha channel route (use Tom's photoshop action: http://think.maxwellrender.com/maxwell_ ... n-110.html )

The fifth picture was changed and ended like this:

On the other side, the forth picture was made mapping the photo onto a curved plane and rendering the whole thing together.

If you have any particular question just ask.

I think the only thing that bothers me about that last image you've shown is the composition. Why did you cut off the right hand side of the building?

I think the main focus is on the center section. The cropping of the sides/bottom looks ok to me. Assuming of course that a render would be included in the presentation of the whole site.

If I had shown that part, a bigger portion of the ground, sidewalk and street would show too and it was quite ugly; besides, the focus was on the changing slopes of the roofs and the space in between the buildings. In the previous version there were also some "pergolas" that connected with the wooden facade that imitated the movement of the rest of the roof, but client didn't like them. This is just one of the lot of pictures of this project.

Updated with an animation just for fun; not archviz stuff:

http://www.ftella.com/links/Galeria/DoblonFTella.avi

Maybe I could have let render some of the frames a bit longer (specially the dof part) but well, did I say it was just for fun?

Hey, Tom and Tim, finally I managed to use Blender to make the frames into a movie and make some additions. Hurray! Also used some of the new filters that came in brand new 2.46. Thanks to both for pushing me into it and for your teaching.
