8) Nothing to envy from the photo other than the jpg artifacts.

I would say solid, but I'm afraid there might be copyright issues, so I'll say....massive! :)

The blue paint came out really nice, perhaps his "visor" material needs to be less rough (the little one).

[UPDATED 12.17.06] Believe it or not, I'm still updating/improving materials. There are quite a few things I'm not happy with.

Dual-proc dual-core Opteron 285's with 8GB RAM running x64. The rendertimes vary from about an hour to 14 hours, depending. Usually I just let the render run overnight, so I'm not sure when it was acceptably clear.

yowser, that looks so very nice.

I've tried the "3 layer auto paint formula", following your description, but i can't get it quite right - any chance you'll upload the blue metal from r2 on the mxm.site, once you're satisfied with it (if you ever get to that point - you seem to be an unbiased texture maker, improving your work untill someone stops you)?

HOLY MOLY! Mike this is just beautiful! VERY nice work. WELL DONE! But how did you set up the studio light in these szenes? What value had the emitters and how many did you use and where were they positioned?

I am having trouble setting up a studio lighting setup here and just ran across you perfect work. Maybe you want to share how you set up the lights?
