... we often mistake cleanliness for "CG look" ... but IMHO "CG-look" should relate to light interactions, and how it bounces in space and on surfaces, but not cleanliness alone. Phong shaded images have CG look. Unnatural materials give CG look. The way light fills space and crawls in tight corners can make or brake a CG look.
On the other hand Yoda's images are near perfect for their intended purpose. This type of vivid, pristine, presentational look is like a "holy grail" in product photography. I have been trying to emulate such thing in my own work for years now (but keep failing ...

) ... a lot of it involves the art of lighting ... and photoshop too
