Great work and such clean renderings  you must have a 96 core rig with 8192Tb ram in it or something similar..

Nothing too fancy 4 cores 4gig ram. Each one took about 12hrs at original pretty high res of 2000x1700 or something like that. Dont remember the exact size. I just let them run overnight or in the background while I do other stuff.

Eric,
Any chance for a screen shot showing emitter placement?

Here is a screenshot of the studio setup I use. Nothing fancy. No tricks. Just a half bowl shape with emitters placed in key areas. Top,Front, Left Key, Right Key, Left Rear, Right Rear and most important for drama the one pointing at the back of the bowl that gives the backdrop a nice glow. I end up tweaking with multi-light until I get something I like. My basic rule of thumb is turn on one of the Front Key light that is oppisite of the camera. Never one that is in the general line the camera is pointing. This gives flash photo look and no contrast if you do this. Next I turn up any of the others a little to fill in the overly dark areas or some feature or element of the design I want to stand out more. Next bump up the back one to add the glow to the backdrop. Thats about it. Im not expert on photo setups, but I found this method works consistently. Best advice is to experiment. Multi-Light is your friend when doing studio shots like this.

Ok Here is the stuff I worked on a little over a year ago. No design work was done at all by me on this.

After seeing the capabalities of Maxwell on another design project that we did do design work for, this company contracted us to do product renderings of something that was about to go to market, but they could not get initial units in time to take the photos for packages. Enter maxwell and Chris (Ivox) 8 core supercomputer at the time. I took their models added detail like welds (This was pre-displacemnt), the coiled hose and a few other small parts that were not already modeled. I put the materials on. A few which came from the mxm site so thanks to all who contribute to that great resource. Then I sent them to Chris to render at high resolution. These would have just killed our single P4 3.0 ghz computers at the time. He definitely saved the day 8)

Enjoy. The last one is a high res shot if you want to see the texture details on the whole thing.

Very nice, love the one with blue background. Is there any post color correction for the red pipe? I find this color very sharp and attractive, looks much more saturate than all the others material.

The whole image had a slight levels adjustment to give it more contrast. The red airhose alone did not.
