Damn, these are good. Your renders are an inspiration to us all....especially those of us in the product design fraternity :) Great designs too.

hey Hugo ... I'd call that a new level. Great great.

I have a question ... I need to do some similar illumination (blue) .. Any quick advice on the material? I've never really tried to do it, ..but I have something pressing that'll require it. Thx.

really great portefolio with nice designs and images
is this a pdf portefolio, or a website? (I'm just curious because of the icons on the bottom of each image)

Thank you to all of you!

Chris: For the lighting ring i use a translucent material (like half clear milky white - not sure you can understand that one  ) and i just put a small ball (3mm diameter) at the back to which i assign an emitter (1Watt but with multi light i divide the power by 10 even more). Than i save different output at different intensity that i mix in photoshop.

Kami: Yes, the image are part of my PDF portfolio. I was lazy to crop them so i just uploaded them like that  .

you always have great images

what are your render times like, on average? Do you typically use your LDR studio setups?

Most of these pictures are quite old (2 years old) so at that time my computer was not really good so all render toke about 12 hours, for some of them i rendered during the weekend (60 hours).

For the lighting i don't use the LDR studio anymore just some mxi of light apply to some plane.

Good job! Nice style indeed. :)

In the second render, I think the chrome bases of the chairs are causing an illusion for my eyes. They look like they are floating 3 feet in the air sometimes. It seems like the shadows don't make sense.

Also, I am curious if you do any post render adjustments here. I think these could use a little bit. They look a little flat and gray, lacking contrast. I would suggest saving renders to hdr and using a good tone mapping program to make the renders come alive. Only one guy's opinion, though.
