That is a good question. For tecnical reasons (region rendering gives wrong samplig level information..) we are not able to give the exact information. Wat you think? 16, 18, 20 ? as i say this images are not postprocessed.

ok thats sound fair even if i think that a 2200 x 1650 pix ratio suit better , but anyway i 've got the idea, will get back to you if needed :D

to finish on the website the info is more lightwave oriented, i mean that if we got the scene ready for maxwell, will we have to send only the mxi file? (could be quite huge depanding on the size and rez) thanks !

Hi thomas,
In RemoteMatador you don't have to send files or save files or things like that. At moment you finished your setup, materials, lights and cameras you can choose, even in last minute if you want to render on Maxwell or Lightwave. Remote matador sends the files autoatically. So no MXI or things like that. It's designed for newbees, and users begins to be productive on RemoteMaador after 20 minutes.
You see more lightwave oriented projects in the gallery because RemoteMatador works on lighwave since 2003. Some big architectural sutios have tested it for one year on many different projects.
I think in short time the Lightwave option will completly replaced by Maxwell. All our clients prefer the Maxwell quality.

Hi adeus,
yes i think it is complex to explain in a few words this software. Even more for us since we can't look at it from the outside.
Personally i think it's absolutly revolutionary.
All the help you can give me is much more as appreciated.
The concept is based on a shared hardware to kill costs. but the we have the incredible database capabilities the easy of use the absolutly simple UI, the phantastic rendering quality of Maxwell...
How to resume this in a few words...
:)

I think we will need to rewrite the whole text again...

Thanks adehus very much again.

I'm sure you are right.

daros, how are the files sent from my comp to your server? You need some sort of secure transfer. Is this built-in to RM?
By daros

Hi mihai, yes for sure!
All data transfers are 256 bit encrypted.
The second point is follwing.
during a normal RemoteMatador workflow the complete model will be send to the cluster the first time only (encrypted). If you make updates to your model only the "delta" (difference) will be send to the cluster, and that is not useful data.
All data transfer system is completly built in to RemoteMatador.

Good thing about the encryption :)

Although this delta thing I don't understand so well.....I mean if you don't change the number of verts that is fine, but what if I add models to my scene? Won't the whole scene have to be sent back?

It's not like it would be a big problem sending to you again the whole scene, as long as it's encrypted each time, just would like to know more what you mean by "difference".

Hope it's not too difficult to explain and I can wait until you release more documentation :)

oh and nice renders....better than the last ones.

i agree with mihai we need more info, concerning texture i'm not sure that some of my clients will agree to share them with your customer for example... sound quite promising that far but got to be a little bit clearer...

Hi Mihai,
If you add to an existing project geometry only the new geometry will be sended.
If you change the position of one single polygon of and existing scene only the information of this sigle polygon will be sended.
If you change a camera position or a material setup only a few bites will be sended.

It's for that you can work on a 2.000.000 polygons file and make renders from the beach, on laptop and a UMTS PCMCA card, with zero time delay. Your render begins immediatly.

Textures are created on demand with zero charge directly by the Temote Matador Team. A new texture is shared with all other RemoteMatador users.
At moment it's not possible to create your own textures.
To create a texture the RemoteMatador team accepts textures by the client but only if the texture is a min 2000x2000 pixel texture like all other remote Matador Texutres. If not, the remote matador team creates the new texture following clients instruction and needs. It is possible to have aditable textures too.
For example if a client wants a texture of a wooden floor with the possibility to change the glossiness of the reflection it is possible. the same for the tiling, or in some materials like plasters and plastics you can cange the color.
The material library is growing fast so it's only a question of time. After we have the first 1000 materials i think we will have lees new requests. To create a good material we need about one hour to 5 hours.
If a client wants an exclusive material it is possible too. For example an important studio from London wanted to use his own people library directly from remotematador. No problem.
We do that because we want to have the most complete 3D package for architects and designers in short time.

agreed but in the case of a custom made fabric for example it could be kinda "touchy" to spread the stuff for anyone to use...

I forgotten to say that the remote Matador team and colaborators are able to create textures for the RemoteMatador directly from web. It means that our colaborators in germany can create a material at home and make it available toa all Remote Matador users after 5 minutes. We have worked very much on the remotematador administration. I think RemoteMatador is the most networked 3D application on the market.

It is possible in short time that we decide to open some administration rights like material creation to remotematador users.

Very nice renders :D and it sounds like RemoteMatador in one great application.
