Very nice renderings. :)

If I may, I think the LED displays (especially the Ipod) could use a little bit more depth and reflection, those kind of screen really look different in brightness depending of the viewing angle.

Totally agree! All the screens were dropped on in PS. Lack of time to really develop this in Maxwell......this is an area that I need to spend more time on.

As previously mentioned we need to keep the renderings quite generic initially so that we can change screen graphics/logos/branding to suit various OEM versions. Doesn't excuse poor results though!

Great renders. I've had Maxwell for some time now but to be honest am not really using it fully. Did you learn in house, or did you get training? I ask because I'm not far away (Shrewsbury) and am actively looking for Maxwell training but nowhere seems to offer it for product design type visualisation (or indeed any type of visuals!).

Hi. All self taught.....I think it helps a lot if you are familiar with SLR photography. I found it useful to load up the "pawn" sample studio set to begin with an play around with this.

If you fancy a day or half day paid holiday to Shrewsbury to do an informal Maxwell training session let me know :)

Thanks Tom ....is was the Maxwell renders that were sent to the IF and Red Dot panels for the first selection phase. It was only when they had got through this first stage that they wanted to see actual product.

I'm not sure we would have been sucessful without Maxwell as we didn't have any samples to photograph!

All those products are very nice, from a design and rendering quality point of view. I really like them. You got a very nice style.

About your last reply, i' m surprise that red dot and IF allow you to just send pictures for the first selection phase. I have joined IF china two times and they asked me to send real product in order to pass the first selection phase. So it sound strange to me that they can make selection just base on rendering.

Hi Hyltom, thanks for your kind words :)

The initial process, at least in Europe, is to submit images of the product. They then weed out the rejected entries and notify the succesful applicants that they have made it to the second round of judging.....only then do they request actual products. The process must be different in China.
