Nice sculptures - but to be honest I think the lighting could use some work to really show things off better. The tones appear muddy and overall they are a bit flat.


Just my thoughts :)

Thanks, you are right. I need to work on that. Any suggestions? I'm not very good at lighting scenes. Usually it's just sun and sky... :oops:

It's really hard to say, depends on what you want to really show. I'd think about the best way to communicate the form and then probably the material. Maybe try adding a large emitter with gradated edges/corners over top and slightly back would help pull up the shape, separate the from teh background, and probably give you a nice highlight on the base surdace as well.

I would also think about some smaller harder lights around the back and/or sides to help pick out the internal shapes.

It's wide open though - you can go a lot of ways.

One more quick pointer: keep in mind that with such reflective materials your lighting is almost as much about "shooting" your lights as they reflect in your object as it is about them casting light on your object and shooting that. Whatever you use for a lightsource has to be perty. :)
