Yes, these are great renders and very nice compositing but I'm trying to understand the heavy aliasing on the window frames in the second render. Is it direct from Maxwell or something in the post hurt it?

superb work!!!

Can you tell us what your workflow was for these? Did you model in MAX, C4D???

Excellent stuff. My favourite is the first!

Thanks

Thanks to all of you for your positive and kind comments. It is really nice to hear that comments from people who already made lot of great renderings.
So here are some more details:
I made this project last summer. It is modeled in Rhinoceros, nothing special, simple geometry, but it took longer just because of real scale based on architectural drawings that were missing some details. Also roof tiles was little problem and took lot of memory (for me :) )
For illumination i used physical sky and sun, since it was almost absolutely clear weather. I also took some pictures of christmas ball (old trick) and made my own hdr globe map that i used in reflection and refraction chanel. I also tried it in illumination chanel, but the sun-light shadows were too diffuse (maybe i missing something :( ). Then i took some pictures for background composition. I made pictures both on D70 and film F65. Guess which was better :) ? But it is another story, for off-topic section. Materials are also very simple. I can share them if someone wants, but i think there is really nothing special on single bsdf. Some textures i found on web and some for better resolution i made by taking pictures of real log-cabin. I can share them either. But i want to make special complex wood material (not for this project) with texture colour based on angle of view, like some varnished wood, that will change texture to oposite if you rotate it by 90 degrees.
Composition is made in photoshop. Direct outputs from Maxwell were missing little contrast. There is also unsharp mask (more visible in second picture (aliasing if viewed in other than native resolution)). Some color corection to make it little more compact. The third one is just fun :) (with multilight and more photoshop than rendering).
I still don`t know about orientation of illumination enviroment maps only by try and mistake. Is it possible to change mapping from spherical to other? Also it would be fine if there will be some 3d-hdr illumination maps, because you will know by distance if light source is directional (and how)or not. Sorry for long post :)

Thanks again
Patrik
