Please, if you have an idea, write again. It is very interesting to see, what everybody think. I'm happy about critical and long comments too. :D

Ian

Great explaination of use of DOF. Those of us old enough to have used manual film cameras have forgotten and the rest are just too young to have learnt about Fstops etc. It was good to read an explaination from a professional photographer.

As Maxwell is trying to mimic photography :?: - should there be a seperate section in this forum for psuedo-photography issues ??

Just a thought

Here an update with less DOF (F3.0), modeled ground splices, more dark cobalt metal and red wood grips for better contrast to the bright ground wood.

Micha,

Sooo much better! It looks drill sized now. "I'll have me a carpentry tool.. make mine a combo 1 with super drill sized! Oh, and a side order of drill bits... "

Nice, the floor looks great. though... I have to mention that it looks pretty rough, and wouldn't be a workbench or interior surface... it's on the other hand too fine for a picknik table... Looks more like fence planking. Though it could be a regional thing.

Nice work!

Ian

PS>thanks duncan and jjs.

Floating drills .. stupid mistake.

Here an update with drills on the ground and wood ground show a little less bump.
Now, I have rendered the images not per doublesize-denoise-downscale. What is yours feeling, is it sharp enough?

Also I ask me, should I post my images in the general forum first? I'm very happy about yours comments and try to make it perfect, but now it looks like a WIP thread and this is the gallery section.

Here an b&w version of the image. I feel, in the future I could post some Maxwell images at a photo webside. Could be a nice joke, but the image must be realy perfect.
