Here my final version of "Nespresso citiz" that I've modeled in Moi, Cinema 4D R15 and rendered in Maxwell 2.7.
The smoke was created in Photoshop.

I hope you like it.

Greeting Jörg

Hi Tom,
I've created a new foam material without SSS and because the artifacts were gone.

I have tested before, what kind of material is the problem, and there remained only the foam.

So your foam geometry is intersecting the coffee and/or cup, right?

Actually not.
Coffee and foam is an object and then selected and awarded material.

The object is situated in the glass and the glass has also a thicker edge.

I would imagine that it comes by the glass material to strange reflections.

I think for SSS to perform properly it should be a separate object with no intersection. so ideally you should have 1 object for a glass, object for a coffee and one object for a foam .. and to get rid of what we call "z-fighting" you should have a tiny (I would say nano) gap between them, which you can mask in different ways.

Probably I'm wrong … as all my experiments with SSS failed so far :)) but just thinking logically :)

Hello to all,
Here is a revised version of the Nespresso machine.
This time fully illuminated area lights without HDRI, but only me.
