The fog is all photoshop - this image had quite a bit of post work done on it. Here's an image straight from the Maxwell:

In the comp I used a clouds layer (done with Photoshop's Render->Clouds filter), a blue tint layer and a plain white layer. Then I masked them out in varying amounts with a z-depth channel to get it stronger as it goes away from the camera. Last was a desat adjustment layer also masked out to get stronger with distance.

That's a really sensible solution. I'd done a project involving a Maxwell pass and then a VRay fog pass, but then that requires two entire sets of materials and lights. Not to mention the misery of working with such an inferior renderer...wink wink...

Thanks, yeah Koons is definitely not boring. Unfortunately I can't show much of any of our MW renderings. Once some stuff finally gets released maybe then I'll throw a gallery thread together.
