This is strange, I had almost the EXACT same image in my head to do a scene like this when we have displacement. Only mine was in sand. But the same curvatures and general shape.....creepy

You too? A few weeks ago a friend of mine showed me some pictures of a similar canyon, and Ive started to recretae the scene in VRay, but I was unable to get the caustics right, and had no time to tweak, so ive figured to port it into maxwell, but Im also waiting for displacement to arrive.

Nice images btw, the caustics are great, and very well pronounced. The bumps and color maps look much like detailed geometry, cool!
