Hi zdeno and m-Que,

your results both look good.
Ok the dust is not volumetric lightning, but it really adds to atmosphere.
Unfortunately i don`t have something like thinking particles, but copy paste could also do it

How did you do this m-Que? If you reduce the fog-particles (or however you did it) a bit it would look even better.
At the moment it looks like short after a volcanic eruption :D .

Sorry for reposting this image,

but i worked on a totally wrong calibrated monitor and i want you to see this image as it was intended.

Hope that my monitor is not playing tricks with me this time ;-)

Cheers

Thanks Jeong-ho Kim,

don`t know what simulens is and what it does exactly. Will have to read it in the manual :)

By the way could you give me a tip how you did that nice looking dirt on the window?
I think i saw this render in your gallery with dirt and raindrops on the window.

My dirt on the window turned out to be plain black as you can see :?

cheers

Simulens is simple. if you see the manual, you will know so soon.

And about dirty window, here is screenshot.

I'm using 3dsmax for modeling.

You can see the dirt weight map on the 'edit uvw' window (rightbottom of 1st img)

I applied another layer for the dirt on the only outside of window object because I always clear my window inside only.

If you wanna double sided dirty, you can add either side.

Basic window material is 12.5% AGS and added another layer.

About raindrops, I applied normal mapped plan on the window ( one layer for raindrops and another layer for clean transparent area )

Thanks Jeong-ho Kim for the very detailed explanation :D

I didn`t know what AGS is. Just found it with google. I have used a normal glass material. I will try this AGS as soon as i find some time.
Is AGS the preferred solution for window glass? Is there a huge difference to normal glass material?
If you wanna double sided dirty, you can add either side.
that would apply to my windows.

cheers

It's the preferred method when lighting an interior scene with exterior lighting if you need some interior reflections on the windows. If there are no interior reflections, you can just delete the window geometry for even better performance.
