Hi everyone... My thought on this.
Why not make a new Gallery where everyone could post their work form the 8 poly sphere to the 2.000.000 poly underwater render and make the Maxwell Gallery a restricted area?
This way, the whole maxwell comunity could coment and grade the images on the new gallery and if the comunity feels that something is worthy enough, then it will be moved to the Maxwell Gallery section. Say everything above 8 out of 10 would be posted as finished.
I understand what junango said, but also tom has a point. I guess what junango tried to state is that if we are going to post a 8 poly textured sphere, then at least let it be a sample 20 type of render. But if somebody feels that a render of that sort is the best they can do, and hence, leaves it cooking for 30 hours, then by all means it will have my support and vote.
Its not about the quality of your work, but most importantly how much effort you put onto it. It´s the attitude that counts.
I read almost every single post on this forum and take a look at all the pictures (childish kindda guy)... And Im sure that Im not the only one. Everybody´s render will be looked at and graded according to what the comunity as a whole thinks.
This will: A) Clean the gallery
B) Make it worth while to make your best
C) Increase the over-all quality of renders
D) Let us really show our respect for great renders
Think of the Keytoon guys that take a look at this forum! Even some of the most pro looking renders might seem wips to them.
