Why am I even bothering??
guys, lets be patient, I too was geting these weird michael jackson B/W Pointalism renders,BUT i found again, that it WAS my Error!...
And I found a solution!
Not only DOES my MAYA plugin work, IT works so well that ALL the mayall SHADERS in maya RENDER GREAT!!-- all renders straight outa MAYA!!
(my mayall not only works for stills, I've rendered an animation now with mayall RC2!!!!)
Just a few settings you have to pay attention to....
Again.. maybe there are situations that make your render not work on your machine, BUT i had this B//W problem and fixed it within 15mins...
Here's my pics.... Before not paying attention to my settings in maya and the AFTER changing my settings...
THE KEY TO GET RID OF THIS B/W RENDER!!
1)Select you EMMITER SHADER.
2)CHANGE YOUR SHADER from the default, ie D^% type, to CUSTOM
3)(this is the KEY) CHANGE YOUR
UNITS to
INTENSITY -tweak your intensity to about 1000+ if emmiter is farther or it renders dark(the reason the renders come out black /white, If you open up your maya mxs scene in MX STUDIO RC2 is that the default emmiter for some reason is Set to KELVIN!... By changing your UNITS in maya to INTENSITY and TYPE to CUSTOM you disable the KELVIN powerful effect, and WHALA!!! your scene NOW renders corrctly STRAIGHT OUT OF MAYA!!!!....
