I noticed that the Maxwell 1.0 release candidate is out - Right On! - BUT... does the current mayall plug-in work with maxwell 1.0 RC or do we have to wait for a new Mayall?

There's something strange going on..

From within Maya i cant even render a preview...
and when i want to import a mxs-file into studio
nothing happens... still an empty scene...

I hope this will be solved by a new mayall...

My RC1 tests tonight aren't looking good - mxcl.exe says

Error: MXS file is obsolete ( old version )

using mayall 0.91 in maya 7 (XP)
I note the download page has RC1 plugins for 3DSMAX and Lightwave, nothing RC1wise for Maya.

I guess I will have to wait.

well, so far I've found that we will need a new version of mayall and that it is possible to get the standalone up and running in a very minimal way...

Lisux is there an ETA for the new Mayall?

you can use maxwell rc

for me it is impossible

if i try import geometrie maxwell crash

i can't import mxs file

Same here, its unusable, I am going back to Beta version untill they figure that out.

When people say, "I'm going back to beta version," what do they mean?

Are you in a separate category of user -- a beta tester -- with differnt software from me?

Or do I (as a casual user of one license bought early Sept '05) also have this beta version?

the beta came out somewhere in July...
if you had a dowloadlink emailed you should
have been able to download it before it was replaced
by the RC yesterday ..

I'm a Maya 6.5 user. Any Maxwell rendering I have done is through the Mayall plugin as available in early September.

I see in the Help that I'm running 1_2_2a_beta engine

I guess I'll hold off on using any of last night's downloads.
