The open GL preview in maya for my texture maps is correct, but when I render out to maxwell the texture map are not positioned correctly. In fact, the maya texture placement system has no effect on how the textures are rendered. Why? How do I fix this? How do I position textures?
Are you using UV or frame rotation in the placement node? Maxwell only supports the "Offset" and "Repeat UV" attributes, the other placement options are ignored. Also, the only available repeat mode is wrapping, so if you're using staggering or mirroring, the render won't match the viewport.
