Hey everyone, I recently have applied some materials to my scene, and when I render they turn out black on certain objects....specifically the ones that are metal. I did some looking around on here and figured out that my material library/materials may not be updated. How do I do this? Or does anyone know what else the problem may be and what to do to fix it? Thanks to all! :D

Do you have an environment for those materials to reflect?

if You download the newest maxwell 1.1 version, all the new .mxm files are in the material database in the new application folder.

maybe remove Your old app and reinstall.

if You have downloaded these .mxm files from the .mxmboard, they might not work since they're based on the «old» files and thus, removing Your other materials from Your properly installed maxwell app folder won't make them work either... :)

maybe just rebuild these materials and use the downloaded bitmaps and the same values, but drop the downloaded .mxm files.

questions ?
