I watched Mike's video, it seem that exporting animation should be simple as using export -> maxwell scene -> check camera & animation.

However, when I hit export, maya gave me

Error: Cannot export Maxwell scene into file 'C:/Documents and .../test.mxs':
Error: Could not save file.

plenty of hd space, no permission setting.
I'm on Windows XP Pro Japanese version <- possible the cause of error???

Any advice?

Try setting your project on another location, c:\temp just for test

Yes, I can render within maya, single frame and animation(batch render).
I also tried with simple scene, ie. couple of spheres and a plane.
Also tried to save a mxs on a non-space directory, ie. c:
All gave me the same error.
When I tried to set a directory for Maxwell Scene in the project setting,
I got, Error: Object not found: np_FileLocationMaxwell Scene

Edited: If I export a single frame, uncheck the animation, it exported ok, but with animation checked..error

I have, I found that if you check the export static fly by check box in the render dialog it works. It is wierd as the first time exported it worked fine, then the second time I had to check this box..

One other thing I found last night, have you change the image/animation ext. to something other than single frame? This caused an error for me...

Actually, when it was set to single frame, it exported fine. But when I changed to animation format (tried them all name.#.ext, name_#.ext, etc)
I got the error...
