Well the thing is that you can see that maxwell units change if you change Maya units, so if you change maya units to meters , Maxwell units change to meters as well (you can see it in the camera attributes) but doesn't make DOF.
I have also realised that if you play with units (change maya units from cm to m) the focal distance gets mad , so I think maybe the bug can be in the focal distance .

iker - I get that we should work in CM in Maya. But that is a much different statement than saying we should scale all geometry down by .01 to get correct DOF. We should always be working in CM in Maya (as far as Maxwell is concerned) you'll notice that if you do change your working units, All kinds of scale factor nodes show up all over the place - so, again, yes we do want to work in CM - But are you saying, in addition to working in CM, we need to scale the scen by .01? I thought 1 CM = 1CM, but then again, maybe that's why I have DOF problems :oops:

btw tom, your post here is one of the first posts i have seen from you that actually makes no sense and offers no insight. perhaps you should stick to things you know (max and glass) and stop posting just to bash, or maybe i just dont understand turkish humor

how was that intended to further the discussion of how to solve this dof bug? i dont see how that was even a remote stab at trying to assist, it was at best a lame effort to bash me .

know that you have produced some nice images, and that they were all from 3d studio max not maya, i assume that you dont have maya or have not had the fun of dealing with it. thats where i get the max and glass comment. you dont personally know me, so therefore you cant say shI* about me, and any mental state that i may or may not be in.

tis fine with me and at least a couple others if you left this thread alone, as so far nothing you have posted to it has benefited this thread anyway

the annoyance that elicited my post is the assumption (and it is just that), that had you posted this thread tom or if it was about Max, im sure NL would have responded swiftly or at least given some sort of comment. this in not the first post on the subject, and whomever is in charge of writing the mayall plugin should be at least watching the maya forum and responding as needed, this is one of those posts that required attention from someone/anyone involved with the mayall plugin, as jep was not the only one to experience this problem.

we(those that use the mayall plugin) have paid for our copies of maxwell also, so we deserve at least a breath from the mayall team

seems a few posts and some people asking you to come back after you were asked to stop posting by some, has gone to your head.
