Good buy rc1 and welcome back beta !
I will wait instead for something better than "RC1" wich where the worst thing i ever have put my hands on...
Ofcourse i see the potentials in the RC1 but there is a long long way to go ... and still iam very disapointed in Next Limit for this bad release.
Most of all NO MAYA PLUGIN !!!
I cant get it !??

Any anwers to that ? Is there going to be any plugin for maya or what ?

We all maya users would like to now or are we forgotten totaly ???

I see your points guys, but software development isnt like making tomato relish, obviously things are a bit behind, they look very promising and i must say RC1 looks a lot faster than previous releases, and remember when the other alpha/beta's were released it did take a while for all the plugins to be released, i waited months for the linux version, but s**t happens, i'm still excited and am glad i layed down the cash on what looks like a very cool and functional render engine, i just couldnt go back to mental ray EWWWW, no thanks.

I was surprised that NL did not release a new Maya plugin and a new Cinema plugin (among others) for RC1.

But I think the bottom line is that this software has a long way to go and unless you really have a lot of time to waste bug testing and screwing around (which I don't) then the best policy is to sit tight, watch this forum and see what happens in the next few months.

If we hit March or April of next year and things are still not happening then there will be cause for concern, but me I'm going to relax, MentalRay works OK in maya right now for free.

I just don't understand some of the people here who seem to have invested everything into maxwell being some kind of magic bullet for all their rendering needs, when you are dealing with a beta and a brand new unproven product, you MUST have a backup plan.

Personally I'm not using Maxwell for any production or work right now, it doesn't make good business sense.

That said I understand how upset people are and really still question the wisdom of creating an entire new 3d environment to work in, I like Maya just fine (and I'm sure the MAX users and LW users are quite happy with their 3d apps) and don't want to 'step down' to what seems to be a rushed front-end based on the Realflow UI.

I'd say forget that, make the renderer stable and feature packed (displacement, particles and render layers), make the plugins robust and everyone will be happy.
