In the new maya 7 plugin you can see the textures in the viewport but not really ..just som colors of the texture..

I was really happy when i thought it would work but no.. but the texture is vissible in the attribute editor and thats good..

is this just me who having this problem or ??

me too - it looks like they changed something in the plugin - Is this the case in the latest 6.5 plug in as well? They finally got textures to preview in maya and now they're gone again.... oh well - now they know!
