I don't think it is the glass shader itself that is creating the bug, as I have done loads of renders that work fine. But there is something, why are there panes of glass on Ric's first image which are black? This is exactly what I get and it is this that effects the light.

I am going to do some more tests. I have rendered the scenes off with the settings you guys are specifying and I am still getting the same problem. Infact the last test I did the scene was completely black by the time it finished :shock:

I've done glass tests with soft and hard surfaces, glass in front opaque and transparent surfaces, backwards opaque and transparent surfaces, etc.. and I don't get this black (I'm trying to get this black effect , and I can't) , I took Ric's first scene , delete all his shaders and make new ones ( just to see what causes this black effect ) and everything went ok.
So I'm going to keep trying to get this black "bug" effect, but there's few options left to test :(
I've also test it with a tv like last ric's scene , and everything was right.

I think mayall is not as advance developed as max plugin... :cry: :cry: :cry: ; (at least last week of february is close!!!

The first thing i'm seeing is that your using an imported geometry, isn't it?
I have change the geometry of glasses and now it renders fine.

So in your scene I think the problem is a geometry problem, maybe caused for import/export questions or a boolean.

There is no imported geometry but it could be a geometry problem. Try something for me, take the right balcony that renders fine and mirror it, it goes black...or it does on my system
