I have just downloaded the plugin to use for the first time. Should there be a mayall manual in the ZIP file apart from the Firefox web links? With the Solidworks plugin there was a printable manual.

No, there is just these web links, and they are out of date so dont bother about them. The plugin is easy to use tough.

ok but I thought the plugin was quite out of date as well. I've just downloaded one that is a few months old. Is there a recent one or is the recent one just for mac's?

They have one plugin that works for maxwell 1.1, and a new one for the mac. And yes, the plugin is out of date. But a new one is on its way.

This might be a basic old plugin but its about 400 times better than the Solidworks one! Could anyone give me any links to UVW unwrapping in Maya/mayall?

I was able to create materials assigned to triangular polygons... but the renderer onky shows lights... any ideas
