Motiva SOAP is a free realtime postproduction tool witch allows not only change colours of the entities but their influence in the whole scene.

Probably the best way to understand what's Motiva SOAP is look at this video.

Vimeo video (features): http://www.vimeo.com/5613002

Why free?
Motiva SOAP is free and ever will be, Motiva SOAP was designed with educationalpurposes, our intention is sell a full tutorial of how it’s made this app step by step, line byline. Covering topics as ‘why is so important the linear conversions?’, ‘the maths behindthe colors’, ‘what’s the way you must focus a realtime app’ , basic shader development...
Until we have a publisher for it we can’t guarantee if it will be released as open source for every one or only for the people that purchase the tutorial.

Requirements
- DirectX 9.0.C June '08 or newer
- Microsoft Framework 3.5 (handled by the installer)
- C++ Runtime Libraries (handled by the installer)
- Pixel Shader 3.0 capable card

You can freely test it from our downloads page: http://www.motivacg.com/descargas_en.php

To be honest:

1. the tool looks awesome and really useful - if only with maxwell it wouldn't be necessary to render x times...it would be even better. But that's something I cannot blame on you. :D

2. I read loads of books in english and even though my english might not be perfect and it's not my mother tongue - I don't get the titles of the tutorials you watn to sell. If the content is as hard to understand as the titles you won't sell it in huge amounts... (I think I have a clue what you mean, but the english here is really bad.)
‘why is so important the linear conversions?’ - this could be 'why is the linear conversion so important?',
‘what’s the way you must focus a realtime app’ - 'what do you have to focus on when using a real time app' (?)

WOW! COOL!!!! and free!?! 8)

...kinda remind me of "the tool" of "the other unbiased renderer"

so will it be possible to load prerendered (mxw rendered) scenes and ajust them?!? :?:

have a look at the video - every item that you want to have changing the colour has to be rendered 2x. (once with the colour and once in black...)

Looks to be an RGB multi-light, .... -mRGB Cool. It's probably in V2 ...

macray, what's this render x2 ? I don't see anything referencing the need .. ?

1.- Yes it's painful to render many times, but It's only one color render, and one more render for every object changeable with black material (changeable_objects+1 for the GI mode). Imagine a customer choosing the color of his office furniture. You should render all the scene every time the customer changes the color. It could be usable in these situation.

2.- You have the reason, but we are not responsible (hopefully) of translating the tutorials

I meant that you have to render the image once with all the materials and then render it again - for the red chairs to adjust the material you render it with the red material in black - for the car to be adjustable you render the car material in black - for the wooden roof cladding you render the wood material in black - but each time just one material in black so you have to render it x times, so you can adjust x parameters...

@Jan: I have mo doubt that this is very useful but with maxwell it is really time taking to render it that often.

One question: what type of images does the program take? Only .exr as shown in the video or also .png, jpg and such?

Fantastic stuff, Jan!!! 8)
Thank you!!!

There's just tiny little detail - it's FREE
Plus it works with any render engine.

Now, I'm curious:
- are you working on applying textures/materials to it later?
- will there be some Maxwell integration in the future?

Thanks for all the coments. All credit goes to my partner Victor, who programmed the application. My programming skills are not very good (only maxscript)

sandykoufax, also the interface looks wrong. Can you see if there is a log file near the application and send it to me?
